This tree produces infinite energy in your garden
A new form of wind power generation technology with a focus on aesthetics is sweeping the green energy industry, and it’s expected that Aeroleaf WindTrees will soon be popping up in gardens across the globe as the nature-friendly innovation takes root in the market. The organic-looking, small-scale installations, which are ideal for urban settings, are fitted with microturbines that have the appearance of leaves on branches, making them far more pleasing to the eye than giant wind farm installations or solar panels.
WindTrees make their debut in the renewable energy market
The renewable energy company behind the Aeroleaf WindTree is New World Wind, which is based in France. The company focuses on nature-inspired, green innovations, and its wind power range, which includes the WindTree, WindBush, and WindPalm, are devices equipped with multiple left-shaped microturbines to harvest wind power.
The technology is remarkable in that the “leaves” can operate in winds from any direction and at speeds as low as 5.6 miles per hour. The devices are silent and don’t require much maintenance, making them ideal for urban areas and small- to medium-scale energy production, and they are suitable for commercial, corporate, or home settings.
The biggest model in the Aeroleaf range is the WindTree, which is 32 feet high. Depending on how it’s set and how many “leaves” it has, the WindTree has a generation capacity of between 4,200 and 10,800 watts. There are already about 130 WindTrees in operation in different parts of the world, including the United States, Europe, and South Korea, and notable customers include British-American Tobacco, Deloitte, and L’Oréal.
All of New World Wind’s offerings are designed for local, nearby applications, not to contribute to the grid. They can be customized for size and color, and their inoffensive, organic design makes them suitable for public spaces like corporate premises, parks, and roadsides.
Benefits of Aeroleaf WindTrees
There are several factors that make WindTrees attractive as green energy generation systems:
- No projected shadow: Unlike traditional, large wind turbines, WindTrees don’t cast a shadow.
- 100% recyclable: WindTrees are made from completely recyclable materials and partially recycled materials.
- Free from noise: No noise pollution is created by WindTrees.
- Animal-safe: The device is safe for wildlife and pets.
- Constant generation: WindTrees run day and night, unlike solar energy.
- Energy supplementation: Customers can top up their existing power supply with a WindTree.
Notable features of New World Wind’s tech
In addition to the benefits detailed above, more aspects of WindTree’s design and functionality make it an almost certain winner in the small-scale energy generation market.
- Durable: WindTrees are made from lightweight, weather-endurant materials with a long life span in outdoor conditions, and they configuration of its minimal moving parts means that maintenance is also minimal.
- Maximum energy production: The WindTree’s minimum initial threshold is a wind speed of just 5.6 miles per hour, meaning it operates in low and high wind conditions, day and night.
- Zero carbon emissions: The AindTree system is completely carbon emissions-free and the energy it produces is renewable.
- Product options: Aeroleaf technicians are eager to customize anyone’s WindTree to their needs, for example matching a specific color or adjusting the number of “leaves”.
How does the Aeroleaf technology work?
The Aeroleaf has a double-bladed structure fixed on a vertical axis. It contains a synchronous microgenerator containing permanent magnets. The blade rotation powers the system, which means that gears or belts are unnecessary. When the magnets pass in front of coils, they create an alternating current that’s converted into a direct current.
The advanced technology installed in the device enables the microprocessor to perform calculations every couple of milliseconds to work out the ideal voltage-to-current ratio so that the Aeroleaf can maintain an optimal rotation speed in terms of the power extraction curve.
This technology may have been unbe-leaf-able to some people even 20 years ago, but the development of the organic, aesthetic, nature-friendly WindTree shows how far the world has come in the green energy revolution.
